Summary:

Based on a musical by Irving Berlin, with an all-star cast, this is a retelling of the story of Jerry Jones, a member of the 1918 Yip Yip Yaphawk cast. His career comes to a halt because of a leg injury and then turns to production during the postwar era. At the beginning of WWII, Jerry puts together a cast from various Broadway musicals and creates a new all-servicemen show entitled "This Is The Army". Jerry's son, Johnny (Ronald Reagan) and Eileen Dibble (Joan Leslie) add a romantic subplot to the show-within-a-show. Guest stars include Joe Louis, Kate Smith and Irving Berlin as himself.
