One-Eyed Jacks [Slim Case]

Summary:

One Eyed Jacks is an underrated and highly influential Western saga featuring Marlon Brando in both a starring and producing role. Brando plays Rio, an embittered bandit who lives only to take vengeance upon his former partner, the sadistic Dad Longworth, played by Karl Malden. Longworth, it seems, once betrayed Rio, which resulted in Rio serving time. Upon his release, Rio seeks out Longworth (now a wealthy sheriff) leading to a violent clash with unexpected results. One Eyed Jacks is epic in scope and is seen today by some film historians as serving as an important bridge between the traditional westerns of the fifties and the grittier storytelling style of the sixties popularized by directors such as Sergio Leone and Sergio Corbucci.
