In 1927, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy officially became a comedy team - and the rest is history. Over their twenty year career, they starred in 62 short films and 13 feature films, as well as performing numerous live shows in Europe and the United States. Their films were commercial and critical hits and the public could not get enough of the two innocent gentlemen and their ability to reduce any situation to complete chaos, due to their comic bumbling and stumbling. They were one on the most recognized and beloved comedy duos in America. Along with Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy were masters of slapstick and many of their routines have become the stuff of comic legends.
